I have no memory or particular notes of why the TV9 on February 10, 1979, came through Haworth NJ running long-hood forward. The lead GP40-2, #3310, only had the normal control stand next to the right hand seat, and was set up to run short-hood forward, so the engineer on this train had to be looking out the other way. While you'd see this on locals, it was pretty rare on a train heading out over the road.
