Details are still a little sketchy, but on Monday, 12/23/24, Union Pacific ore train OUTS1 (Iron Springs, UT (near Cedar City) to the Los Angeles/Long Beach Harbor) ran through a red signal at Control Point Tyler, on the Alameda Corridor, and struck an intermodal train … or, possibly, two. Fortunately, there were no injuries. It appears that the ore train had UP ES44AC 8109, AC4400CW 7255, AC4400CW 5956 and and ES44AC 7941 for power (up front, with UP 6401, 8754 and 7849 85 cars in, and UP 7041 and 8230 on the rear).
