Remarks & Notes
United States Air Force 44-ton 1236 was built by General Electric in early 1953, showing 02/02/53 as the derlivery date for Middletown, Pennsylvania, possibly at the now-closed Olmsted Air Force Base. USAF 1236 was later assigned to Patterson AFB near Dayton, Ohio, arriving in July 1976. This diesel later worked at Hill AFB, just south of Ogden UT. Upon retirement, it was acquired by the Spencer S. Eccles Rail Center at the Utah State Railroad Museum in Ogden. A few windows are broken (OK, most of its windows are broken, and Its oxidized paint has become a canvas for visitors who want to mark their visit with finger rubbings. And no, that "Walker" scribbled upon one of the hoods is not from me! (Ogden, Utah – March 13, 2015)
