Colorful Christmas Eve In The Snow. On December 24, 2024, Amtrak showed up with a number of colorful gifts in the snow, including AMTK 125 in Phase VII leading Train 69 (Adirondack), the newest paint scheme. While the Hudson Line assignments are normally held down by dual-mode P32s, when one is not available, a P42 will substitute and the "vents" in Penn Station will be turned on to remove the exhaust.
The Adirondack follows both the Hudson and the Lake Champlain shoreline on its leisurely trip between New York and Montreal. When it started, it was pulled by beautiful ALCO PAs purchased by Delaware & Hudson second-hand from the Santa Fe.
