It's rare for B&E road trains other than RJED and EDRJ to have anything other than an NS SD60E leading (due to PTC requirements over Keolis), so today's B101 was an exception. The train's SD60E leader had trouble overnight, which necessitated a crew bringing BERX C40-8W #7879 east out of Mechanicville, NY to rescue the train at Buckland, MA. The fact that the 7879 is in the G&W heritage scheme was a bonus for photographers. Here, the train crosses the Hoosic River at Schaghticoke, NY, which was in an interesting state of melting ice due to a recent thaw.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
