Christmas is right around the corner, and Metra is once again celebrating the holiday season by decorating some of its locomotives in Christmas lights. For this season, METX 211 - the CB&Q heritage unit - is decorated in red and white candy cane colors while it continues service shuttling commuter trains back and forth along the BNSF Racetrack. Here, one of those trains pauses at the Western Springs, IL station, which itself is surrounded by Christmas lights.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
