This handsome 2-8-2, number 430, was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Atlanta & West Point Railroad. It had a total engine and tender weight of 610,000 lbs., and a tractive force of 63,000 lbs. It was built in Eddystone, Pennsylvania, where my great, great Uncle Robert F. McKee, Sr., worked as a design engineer at Baldwin. This Baldwin Locomotive Works builders photo card is from the John R. Doughty collection.
