Day-One Heritage ALC-42 #301 leads Amtrak Floridian Train #40 (P029) west by the Washington Grove Station Hut. The Metropolitan Branch of the B&O Railroad, operational from May 25, 1873, connected Washington, D.C., to the Monocacy River, transforming transportation and trade in Montgomery County. Washington Grove had a station along the route, serving residents and visitors. A large frame train depot with an open waiting area was built in 1873 but no longer exists. Now, this station hut stands guard for MARC Rail commuters.
Lots of acton one of the busiest - and fastest - sections of the Northeast Corridor plus the Capitol Limited going through Harpers Ferry, Sand Patch Tunnel and more.
