| The PRR 4935 has just been placed inside the museum yard by the Strasburg Rail Road, allowing us to compare it to the prototype GG-1 No. 4800, which was cosmetically restored a few months before this photo was taken. Note the widely-spaced stripes on 4800 compared to the standard spacing on 4935. The 4800 is still outside at the museum 42 years later (now sans stripes), while No. 4935 is displayed inside in pristine condition. It would be nice if the 4800 could be fixed up again and displayed permanently indoors; perhaps at someplace like the DC Union Station concourse. |
