NJT Has The Post-Holiday Blue. New Jersey Transit's Conrail Heritage Unit, GP40PH-2B NJTR 4208 (ex-CR 3191, née-Penn Central 3191, EMD, GP40, 10/1968) has been assigned to make Port Jervis Line during its first appearances in revenue service. From 1976-1983, Conrail operated all of the passenger rail commuter service for what is today both New Jersey Transit and MTA Metro-North Railroad. The route of this line, from Hoboken, New Jersey to Port Jervis, New York, offers a variety of scenes to capture. The unit is seen leading NJT Train 75, passing through Lyndhurst, New Jersey with the Freedom Tower in the background on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
