Rainbow Lights For All Of The Holidays. The day after Thanksgiving, MTA Metro-North Railroad released an 8-car set of M8s (9260 and 9248 bracketing) decorated with lights and a special holiday logo for the season. It has since operated in revenue service on the Hudson, Harlem, and New Haven Lines. This the first time that Metro-North has operated such a train. Check out the MTA Metro-North Railroad social media pages for more info on schedules. For the final cycle, the lights have been changed to a multitude of colors, and January 4, 2025 will be the final day. On Wednesday,January 1, 2025, the train traveled over the Woodlawn Flyover in the Bronx, New York, crossing over three tracks of the Harlem Line while still on the New Haven Line, approaching the Woodlawn Station on the way to Grand Central Terminal.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
