DOT At Dusk. NJ Transit Train 1215 passed the Waldwick Historical Society's former WC Tower in Waldwick New Jersey on the evening of November 8, 2022 as the sun was setting with NJTR 4101 (GP40PH-2, NJ DOT heritage, née CNJ 3672, EMD, GP40P, 10/1968) leading. The New Jersey Department Of Transportation "bluebird" paint scheme was once common on this line, but was painted on GE U34CH locomotives while these "geeps" were residents of the Newark Division. WC tower was in use by NJ Transit until 1986, but has since been restored and is open to the public during scheduled hours thanks to the work of the volunteers.
Photos from across RP of NJ Transit’s 40th Anniversary specially painted & wrapped units.
Also included are the fully wrapped Veterans & Pride tribute units.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
