Portal By Hoboken. Early on the morning of Thursday, January 16, 2025, the second span of the Amtrak Portal North Bridge floated down the Hudson River on the way to Kearny, New Jersey. The span is seen passing the 1907 Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad (today NJ Transit) Hoboken Terminal in Hoboken, New Jersey. The multi-year Portal North Project will completely replace the existing structure, significantly increase the capacity and speed of the line, which will also permit more frequent service.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
