Remarks & Notes
Lower Level Lackawanna. NJ Transit ALP-45DP no. 4519 is seen leading Montclair-Boonton Line train 1003 under the Freemand Pkwy bridge in Glen Ridge, NJ, also crossing Toneys Brook at the same time. The railroad through here was built by the Newark and Bloomfield Railroad in 1856, later grade-separated and double-tracked by the Morris & Essex Railroad in 1912. Electrification came in 1930 - with the first train operated by Thomas Edison himself - and in 1945 full ownership of the line went to the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western.
