Alco Saved Again. On Friday, January 17, 2025, the Delaware & Hudson Railway Historical Society announced that the acquisition of former D&H Alco RS-3 4085, and that it will be moved to the Saratoga Corinth & Hudson Railway and restored to operating condition. This locomotive saw a few owners after D&H, and in the 1990s, operated for the New York & Greenwood Lake Railway. During this time, it was temporarily located on the Piermont Branch (today's Suffern Industrial) in Suffern, New York while it received mechanical attention and paint before moving to Passaic, New Jersey. After the NYGL ceased regular operations, it was moved to the yard in Port Jervis, New York, where it sits today. In this photo from February of 1995, the power for the Conrail Piermont Local passes while returning from their work.
