Protect Your Dogs. KCS 4771 was leading a 3-pack of power, including the (sadly) trailing KCS SD70ACe 4006 Veterans Unit, on a manifest train on the New Orleans Public Belt as it crossed Eagle Street in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 14, 2019. So here's what I'm saying - I don't want to be on a leash either, but do you care about your dogs? What did they do to you? Walk them someplace else? Obviously you don't care about your own life running in front of this moving train. Folks, when I was younger, I never thought it had to be explained that railroad crossings are dangerous places since trains can come from any direction at any time, but in light of recent events (this is an evergereen post apparently) it needs to be repeated. STAY OFF THE TRACKS. AND...if you do get stuck in your car, call the toll free number on the blue and white sign that is present on EVERY SINGLE RAILROAD CROSSING IN AMERICA. They can stop all train traffic within seconds. Call it before you call 911, it won't take long. Give them the ID on the sign, and they can also help to get you the police, an ambulance....whatever you need. Sorry to shout, but it seems that speaking in normal tone hasn't had sufficient success thus far. Have a safe night wherever you are.
