Heritage Meet Up At COLE. NJ Transit Train 2112 was heading to Hoboken with NJTR 4519 (ALP-45DP, Erie Lackawanna Tribute) when NJT's Conrail Heritage Unit, GP40PH-2B NJTR 4208 (ex-CR 3191, née-Penn Central 3191, EMD, GP40, 10/1968) passed by leading train 2111 on the way to Spring Valley, New York in the siding at COLE in Hackensack, New Jersey on Saturday, January 25, 2025. Representing roughly 33 years of the line's history, Erie Lackawanna Railroad inherited operation of the Pascack Valley Line (former New Jersey & New York Railroad) from the Erie Railroad in 1960, and Conrail assumed control of the Erie Lackawanna in 1976. With Conrail exiting the passenger business, New Jersey Transit took over direct operation of the line in 1983.
