GenSet In The Snow. One of four 3GS21C locomotives built by National Railway Equipment (NRE) of 27 total manufactured, Indiana Harbor Belt IHB 2162 crosses the diamond near CP Gibson in Hammond, Indiana on the snowy evening of January 30, 2021. The locomotive uses three separate 700hp engines that can operate individually or together to generate a total of 2,100hp to operate on the former EMD frame. The Penn Central style CP Gibson sign adds a nice vintage effect to the scene. In 2023, all four of this type operated by IHB were scrapped.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
