At 7:15, just after sunrise following a snowfall the previous evening, Connecticut DOT train 6506 rolls into the Metro-North Harlem-125th Street Station on its way from Manhattan's Grand Central Terminal to New Haven, Connecticut. This train is comprised of M8 electric multiple-unit cars built by Kawasaki Heavy Industries from 2011 to 2022, led by CDOT 9390. (New York, New York – January 20, 2025)
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
