Front Window View. While looking at PCCs from PCCs has been possible for many decades on the MBTA Mattapan-Ashmont Line, perhaps the end is coming with the rumored future transfer of Type 9 cars as replacements. On February 17, 2018, a passing meet shows the PCC operator's view through the distinctively shaped window. The ten "Wartime" PCCs that are presently on the roster (though some are out of service) were built by Pullman-Standard in 1945–1946, and have not left the MBTA service area since. Other than having air conditioning added in 2008, the general appearance of the cars is similar to when they were delivered.
