High Speed In Chicago. In the early morning hours of February 18, 2020, Amtrak Acela 2 Train Set 1 arrived in Chicago, Illinois on its way to Pueblo, Colorado for operational testing in the rain. AMTK 2100, the lead power car pictured here, was adorned with the emblems of both Amtrak and Alstom to recognize their cooperation on this project. This set has since tested and returned to the Alstom facility in Hornell, New York where it will be modified based upon the data collected and repainted before being delivered to Amtrak.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
