A $100k Car. MTA NYCT Subway R-11 8013 (Budd, 1949) was transferred from the New York Transit Museum's Court Street Station to 207 Street Yard on Monday, February 24, 2025, seen here passing through the Fulton Street Station on the A/C Line in lower Manhattan. The station is one of two on the line with these kind of curved walls, and notably during the rehabilitation and renaming from Broadway-Nassau, the new tiles were matched to the original design. The train, composed of R-16 6387 (ACF, 1955), and R-32s 3361-3360 (Budd, 1964), had been on display in the museum for several months. When purchased in 1949, the $1 million price tag of the 10 R-11s was a bit jarring, leading to the nickname "The Million Dollar Train", which even at an inflation adjusted $13.2 million and change is to say the least a quaint notion by modern standards.
