Midnight Blue At The Silos. On March 9, 2025, AMTK 100 (P42DC, Midnight Blue, 50th Anniversary) led Amtrak Train 240 from Albany-Rensselaer to New York Penn Station. It is painted in a unique scheme that represents the "commitment of our employees moving people around the clock and across the nation. Just out of view around the bend is a trailing dual mode P32AC-DM locomotive that will power the train into Penn Station on third rail. This is one of several trains that regularly has a locomotive on each end to facilitate changing ends on the platform at the station rather than going to Sunnyside Yard to loop during planned construction in the East River Tunnels. The silos that adjoin the MTA Metro-North Railroad Ludlow station in Yonkers, New York give a somewhat rural feel to the pic, though the high-rise buildings on the right more accurately portray the surrounding urban neighborhood's density.
