Sunday Sunrise With the NYNH&H. MTA Metro-North Railroad Train 8805 was led by the railroad's newest heritage unit, P32AC-DM MNCW 222 (New Haven) on the early morning of Sunday, March 9, 2025. This unit commemorates an early New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad locomotive paint scheme with its distinctive script logo. This is the sixth Metro-North Railroad wrap, and it joins the four Connecticut DOT New Haven (McGinnis/Matter) tribute units. Because of weekend work on the Park Avenue Viaduct, the Poughkeepsie bound train is a bit further over to the east than usual as it passes through Mott Haven in the Bronx, New York about 15 minutes before sunrise. Construction in the area has brought a number new high-rise construction building to the neighborhood in recent years, as can be seen in the background.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
