Hudson River Rail Excursions Final Day For The Season. For a few weeks, the United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey operated round trip excursions from New York Penn Station to Albany-Rensselaer, New York a few days a week. The former New York Central Railroad NYC 43 (URHX 800411, tavern/lounge)/Swift Stream (URHX 800460, slpr/lounge)/Hickory Creek (URHX 800733, slpr/lounge/obs). These ticketed excursions give the public a chance to experience the golden era of rail travel while the cars operate on their home rails. The organization announced that the final day for the season was Sunday, March 2, 2025, as Amtrak schedule and cycle changes have made it impractical to operate these excursions under the planned schedule. The train is seen on its former home rails on the Hudson Line with the signature New York Central power gantries and the Tappan Zee Bridge in the background.
