Mid-Street South Shore. One of the highest numbered Nippon-Sharyo Highliner II cars, METX 1375 (built 2012-2016), was only a few years old when it led METRA Train 329 towards South Chicago on the Metra Electric South Chicago Branch on Monday, December 16, 2019. While the South Shore Line/Northern Indiana Commuter Transit District attracts a lot of attention in Michigan City, Indiana for its formerly street running operation (now also street adjacent), less frequently photographed is the line where METRA runs through the middle of East 71 Street and South Exchange Avenue for a good distance.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
