Frozen Heritage At Overpeck. While exiting the CSX North Bergen Yard, CSXT 1851 (Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway Tribute) was leading CSX I003-25 into the sunshine on the morning of Sunday, January 25, 2025. The train is seen crossing a semi-frozen Overpeck Creek in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. This unit, the 19th released of 21 CSX Heritage Units (so far) honors the history of the Nashville, Chattanooga & St. Louis (NC&StL). The NC&StL was founded 1845 and acquired by the Louisville & Nashville in 1880. But its rail lines were at the heart of the conflict during The Civil War, and survive today to transport goods and materials as part of the CSX network.
