Remarks & Notes
The first Amtrak Floridian train rounds through the Summit of the Allegheny Mountains with two ALC-42 locomotives and a sleek train of single level equipment. This is a big change from the Superliners the Capitol Limited used. Due to equipment availability and work on the New York Tunnels, the Silver Star and Capitol Limited were combined into a a new direct train from Chicago to Miami.
