Interesting Locals Meet At Riverdale. On Saturday, March 15, 2025, MTA Metro-North Railroad Trains 8733 and 8734 met in the station at Riverdale in the Bronx, New York. While locomotive powered coach trains are generally used only for trains between Grand Central Terminal (GCT) and Poughkeepsie during the week, on the weekends they can sometimes be found on local runs between GCT and Croton Harmon. On the left, MNCW 222 (P32AC-DM) is wrapped in a heritage pain scheme representing an early New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad design, while on the right, the wrap on MNCW 214 (P32AC-DM) is a mosaic design that includes thousand of pictures of past and present employees that includes the original "M" logo of the MTA.
With three lines radiating north out of Grand Central Terminal plus service to Port Jervis on the former Erie, Metro North covers a wide swatch of New York's northern suburbs with varying terrains.
