Railcare's Euro9000 locomotives have not been used for several months, apparently due to software problems with train protection. The first freight trains have been running again for a few days now. The 2019 # 321 from European Loc Pool (ELP), built by StadlerRail in Valencia/Spain, rented to the Railcare, pulls freight train 63688 from Brig via Lötscherg mountain line-Spiez-Thun-Zollikofen-Biel VL (Verbindungslinie = joint line)-Solothurn to Wangen bei Olten. The train crosses the 46 meter high and 265 meter long Kander viaduct between Kandergrund and Frutigen, built in 1913. To the left is the newer concrete beam bridge for the second track built in 1982. The train load of 1157 tons consists of 12 six-axle articulated VTG Sggmrss wagons loaded with a total of 24 Coop containers. The train mainly transports mineral water of the Coop brand “Swiss Alpina” (Pearlwater Company). The load of the train with the 9000 kW Euro9000 multi-system locomotive over the Lötschberg mountain line with a gradient of up to 2.7 % is extraordinarily high, almost half more than what an SBB Re 6/6 (Re 620) pulls.
