Remarks & Notes
The Biltmore signal bridge in Asheville became another victim of Hurricane Helene this week, as workers took down the classic Southern cantilever mast. On May 9, 2020, it guided 135 into the Asheville yard for the last time, as the route was downgraded to locals and special moves only, leaving 135 to operate from Asheville to Knoxville. NS has not served Asheville since September due to hurricane damage, but the first train is expected any day now.
