"The Neighborly Grinder"
On March 16, 2025, Loram’s Möser Road/Rail Grinder RO-V 149 “MRG-1” works its way down Essex Street in Jersey City, New Jersey, performing rail grinding on the NJ Transit Hudson-Bergen Light Rail’s (HBLR) Riverline Branch. This portion of the line is the only segment shared with automobiles, requiring a temporary street closure to thru traffic during maintenance.
The RO-V 149 was utilized for grinding this portion of the HBLR due to its compact design and low 75dB operating noise, making it ideal for use in dense urban environments such as metro, light rail, and tram systems.
