Winding Down The "Metro-North Commuter Railroad" Scheme. Nine years ago today on April 14, 2016, MNCW GP35r 101 (née-Reading 3641, GP35, EMD, 8/1964) was assigned to tow a "maxi-bomb" (7 Bombardier coach train) from Poughkeepsie to the Croton Harmon Shop in Croton-On-Hudson, New York for repair. The train is seen along the shores of the Hudson River approaching the Peekskill, New York Station. The GP35r fleet had some of the last equipment painted in the "Metro-North Commuter Railroad" scheme with the older "M" logo on the nose, and all six were repainted with "MTA Metro-North Railroad" and the current MTA (adopted in 1994) while being rebuilt.
