A quartet of Tunnel Motors lead an eastbound Southern Pacific freight as it departs San Luis Obispo with California's Coast Range mountains (and a vineyard) for a backdrop. The power is SP SD40T-2 8235, SD40T-2 8384, SD45T-2 9180 and SD40T-2 8541. SP’s Coast District is geographically a north-south line, but on the SP all operations were east-west, so this is actually a southbound train. (San Luis Obispo, California – 04/15/84)
