EMD SD40-2s, decades ago the standard power on Union Pacific's hot freights, are now the usual set of power for assembling trains at UP's West Colton Yard. This typical 3-unit set consists of SD40-2 1797 (ex-UP 3310, née-UP 8040), SD40N Y3202(ex-UP SD40-2 3244, ex-UP 8004, née-UP 3244) and Y3200 (ex-UP SD40-2 3238). And to think we used to be bored with these on so many trains!
