Remarks & Notes
"Veteran's Electric, Veteran Automatic Signals (on the Hell Gate Line)"

On the morning of March 3rd, 2025, Amtrak Veterans ACS-64 #642 leads Northeast Regional Train 172 past the position light style 90/91 automatic signals at Milepost 9.09 on the Hell Gate Line in the Bronx borough of New York City. With the commissioning of Leggett Interlocking at MP 9.5 (just behind the camera) on April 12th, 2025, both eastbound automatics (90-1 and 90-2) have since been placed out of service and bagged for removal. As Penn Station Access (PSA) upgrades to the Hell Gate Line continue, more distinctive features of this historic route are set to change or disappear entirely.
