Remarks & Notes |
CPKC Railway's eastbound intermodal train from Edmonton, Alberta to Montreal, Quebec climbs out of the Lake Superior basin at mile 50 of the Heron Bay Subdivision between Pringle and Heron Bay sidings. In the early 1900s CP has several pieces of double track and plans for others. Once section here on the Black River straight stretches was to have a second track installed. Note the bridge was built with double tracked piers. This had never happened but there was double track just west of Heron Bay towards then Peninsula. In 2015 Canadian Pacific built an extended siding just under 15000ft in length using old roadbed after the second track had been pulled during the depression on the 1930's. CP AC4400CWM 8158, CP AC4400CW 8633 and a mid train remote, CP 9757 also an AC44 provide the power on this 7608ft train. |
