| Back in 1993, the Cedar River flooded out the CNW mainline around Cedar Rapids. Mainline trains ended up making the slow 8.6-mile trek through downtown Cedar Rapids for a few days on the once original mainline. Later in the day, the train would resume on the mainline south of town. This was once the main route through Cedar Rapids until the cutoff was built between Otis and Beverly. It was an interesting couple of days as hot trains worked through downtown. The train here is passing the CRANDIC connection.
