Three SD45-2s and an SD45, led by six-month-old Santa Fe 5631, lead a westbound freight past Casa del Desierto, the passenger station at Barstow, California, on November 15, 1972. ATSF 5631 is from the first of two SD45-2 orders placed by the railway, delivered in the classic "Pinstripe" paint scheme. (The second order would follow one year later, in May 1973, delivered in "Yellow Warbonnet".)
