A loaded eastbound coal train crosses from the north to the south bank of the James River alongside the Appalachian Trail Foot Bridge. Ironically, the bridge is not so named for the seemingly obvious reason; it is actually named after William Foot as the plaque explains. Click HERE to see the view from the other side of the river. |
