Remarks & Notes |
One of two units in blue with the RI herald (a paint scheme of the trustee after shutdown) waits on the Memphis to Tucumcari main while crews behind lift the track above the KCS main. Tomorrow a length of track will be set in place allowing the locomitive to pick up the last RI cars in Arkansas and western Oklahoma to be removed. The ROCK Howe depot is visible as are several RI/ROCK and KCS trucks. The RI shut down in 1981. This is the first movement in almost two years and will be the last for the RI east of Oklahoma City. Unit was leased from Mongahela. |
