In addition to the sparkling-clean N&W locos 611 and 1218, there was a third steam loco which was part of Norfolk Southern's 125th anniversary of the Roanoke Shops. Virginia Museum of Transportation's 2-8-4, Nickel Plate Road #763, had gone out for a ride on the turntable on the previous day, but was back in the shops this afternoon, awaiting more preparations for its trip to the Ohio Central, where it will be restored to operating conditions.
