BNSF train Z-RICCHI1-05 works upgrade as it begins its ascent over the Tehachapi Mountains. After several miles of tangent trackage, Sand Cut represents the first curve of many, many more (including the famous Loop) until the town of Tehachapi, and summit, is reached.
