"The Cruz," aka the Santa Cruz Local crosses Dry Creek Trestle in Aptos. I had planned to chase this train along the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, but it stopped for beans about two miles north of here, and I couldn't wait for it. The GP15-1 in the lead is one of the legion of ex MoPac units, this one delivered as MP #1614 in July of 1977. GP39-2 #1215 is one of the Katy units that was built after GP39-2 production had ended, and has a GP49 body as a result. It was delivered as MKT #366 in April of 1984.
