Remarks & Notes |
The 3986 first served the Southern and then Norfolk Southern after the SOU/N&W merger. It then wound up on the Pine Belt Southern Railroad in southeast Alabama, where it hauled untold numbers of woodchips through the dense pine forests. After the PBRR was abandoned, the 3986 was transferred to the foothills of Appalachia for service on the SQVR. |
