Remarks & Notes
US steam in England! S160 no. 5197 heading a Wednesday northbound train at Burrs. The loco was built by Lima in 1945 for the United States Army Transportation Corps of Engineers (USATE). It was built as works no. 8856 and shipped directly from the US to China, where it hauled coal trains there until the mid 1990s as Chinese State Railway's class KD6 No 463. The loco was rescued from being scrapped by the Chinese coal industry and brought to the UK in 1995.
