Every year, during Del Mar racing season, one set of Amtrak Surfliners are broken up to add a car each to the others sets (plus three more cars to one super set). To make up for the missing train this low-level train is patched together with two F59PHIs bookending five Amfleets, one Horizon, and a Heritage Baggage car.
