Remarks & Notes |
This was the final Union Pacific train that was to be guided by the nearly 100 year old US&S Style B semaphores at Coyote Siding (MP 14527) near Carrizozo, New Mexico, on September 20, 1999. Signal crews wave to the train as they wait to cut in the new signal system at the siding. The CTC installation will reduced the number of Style B semaphores remaining on the UP to 52, all of which are on the little used (at the time of this article) Phoenix Sub.
