Four NYSW B40’s are storming up the 1.36% Gulf Summit grade and across Starrucca Viaduct, working hard but making good speed on a gorgeous Sunday summer evening. This is the ruling grade on the old Erie main from Chicago to Jersey City. This grade takes the tracks from the banks of the Susquehanna at SR Tower to the banks of the Delaware at Deposit. The train in tow is Sealand stacker SLN-4 (NTV-4C in Conrail language).
