Remarks & Notes |
South bound intermodal train 208 passes through Spring Interlocking at 16:37 while starting it's trip down NS's South District to Macon Ga. and also running reverse main down the number one track as the number two is out of service during selected hours of the day for maintance. Just above the lead unit is NS's former Distpatching Center for the Georgia Division. These postions have since been relocated to the former AT&T building on Peachtree Street in down town Atlanta. The towering white building to the left is the Richard B. Russel Federal building which is a land mark in this area. Also as a note, the NS 8889 was the first North American Safety cab unit puchased by the carrier. A wave of the GEs followed and in the eyes of the railfan became to common. |
